GREAT GAIN

By | Bible Studies | No Comments

Thanks for the amazing reminder from Kim! “But godliness with contentment is GREAT GAIN. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.” 1 Timothy 6: 6-7   Contentment! What a beautiful word! We all strive to be content, satisfied, and just at peace with what we already have or what we are going through!!!     These verses remind us “we brought nothing into this world and we can take nothing out of it.” Everything good we have is a gift from above!   Only Christ Himself can FILL the deep void we all have within us!…

Camping Fun for Gary’s Birthday Weekend

By | Family | No Comments

It was so much fun to camp together. We literally THREW the weekend together at the last minute, cancelled it, and then re-instated it.  It is really an “updated version” of our old time camping days.  Old days we set up a minimum of five tents, made all our own meals, and just plain got grungy, soaking wet, and poison-ivy’d for a week (or sometimes even two) at a time!   NOW, our “updated version” includes going to Bally’s to…

Subtle Deceptions…

By | Bible Studies | No Comments

Today I was thinking of 1 Samuel chapter 5, when the Philistines took the Ark of God and set it next to their god Dagon. The next morning, Dagon had fallen and parts had broken off. They set Dagon back up, and then the next time they checked Dagon had fallen once again and broken. They decided, since they didn’t want to lose their own idol, to get rid of the Ark of God… (see 1 Sam 5.7). It is…

Thank You for joining me today! Enjoy His Truth! “For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. As the above verses say, they are all going to wither, be destroyed and/or fade away! This…

“BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, to be envied) is everyone who fears, reveres, and worships the Lord, who walks in His ways and lives according to His commandments. For you shall eat [the fruit] of the labor of your hands; happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) shall you be, and it shall be well with you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the innermost parts of your house; your children shall be like olive plants round about your table. Behold, thus…

“For this reason [seeing the greatness of this plan by which you are built together in Christ], I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, For Whom every family in heaven and on earth is named [that Father from Whom all fatherhood takes its title and derives its name].
