The Year of Possibilities for Change

By | Bible Studies | No Comments

The following is an amazing encouragement to changes from Amanda Gore’s Endorphin Injection newsletter.  Enjoy and know that change is possible!   NEW YEAR 2009 – THE YEAR OF POSSIBILTIES FOR CHANGE I am reading a new book called “The Brain that Changes itself” by Norman Doidge M.D. It was first published in 2007 in the States so it won’t be new for many of you reading this! It is a wonderful new insight for the New Year. It’s all about…

The Hand of Christ Extended…

By | Bible Studies | No Comments

This is such a great reminder from Kim! At the present time your PLENTY will SUPPLY what they NEED, so that IN TURN their plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be EQUALITY!!!!!!!!.” 2 Corinthians 8: 14 Have you experienced this in your life? Where at times, you are the one who is able to give and/or help someone financially, Spiritually, emotionally, or physically, ….. but then, it is you who needs that help? God tells us in…

Be careful!

By | Bible Studies | No Comments

So important. Beware of people that leave fractured relationships in their wake! Divisions, strife… beware of people that do not seek peace and ensue it. A great reminder from Kim. “I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they…

Godly Sorrow

By | Bible Studies | No Comments

Thanks to Kim for this study… “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.” 2 Corinthians 7: 10 Godly Sorrow versus Worldly Sorrow! Godly sorrow is being TRULY SORRY for what we have done or said, …and if given the opportunity to do it all over again, we would NOT repeat it, …it is choosing to change our ways even when no one is looking!! As the Study Bible notes say,…

Giving til it feels GOOD!

By | Bible Studies | No Comments

One of my favorite verses expounded by Kim…  Thanks Kim for the SUPER reminder! “Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing Joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints.” 2 Corinthians 8: 2-4 Don’t you find that to be true?…

Turn it around!

Great reminder from Kim! “He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.”Ephesians 4: 28 It is good for us to work! To do something useful with our hands! We were created in God’s image and He worked (created) for 6 days and then rested. Let us use Him as our example, create and rest!! We were not cursed…

Financial Seminar and to the Carollos

By | Family | No Comments

We had an incredible Financial Seminar, thanks to Asaad Faraj, Matt Wandrie, Mike Skupin, and Ed Murray.  Everyone learned a LOT, including me!  I am excited to repeat it again soon.  It was truly a blessing, and I am grateful that these gentlemen volunteered their time and expertise to help others! Then we went to the Carollos for a night out with the Mallinos and Carollos.  We have been getting together several times a year (taking turn at each other’s…

Turkey Trot!

By | Family | No Comments

Gary, me, Jesse, Amber, Gabe, Hannah, Mike, Bethany, Christa, Brandon, Daniel, Emily, my sisters Laurie and Diane, my nieces Shalene and Rachel, and my nephew Michael, and Greg Fisher, Greg Moon, and Jacklyn all went downtown to run the Turkey Trot, a 6.2 mile run before the Parade.  It was SO MUCH FUN!  The weather was the best in four years.  The run was long enough to be challenging, and short enough to stay FUN!
